| The parties involved
|
At least three parties are involved in any affiliate program procedure:
1. The merchant web site
2. The customer
3. The webmaster
The three parties work together very simply:
The Webmaster advertises the merchant’s product and is paid a commission according to the initial agreement.
For example:
You – the Webmaster, advertise Amazon by recommending one of their books. Once your customer goes from your site to amazons’ site – the merchant, and buys the book you are paid a commission.
In this case the commission is paid if the customer buys a book – this is one kind of agreement. There is many more commission structures based on the needs of the merchant site.
